Checking fixtures and gauges

Line-side checking fixtures and go/no-go gauges that let an operator confirm profile, hole position and critical dimensions in seconds — instead of waiting for the measurement lab.

At a glance

Checks
Profile, hole position, trim, flange, weld presence
Type
Go/no-go pins and blocks, dial indicators, digital probes
Base
Machined plate or fabricated base with locators
Certification
Master part or CMM correlation
Lead time
Indicative 4–8 weeks from design freeze

Overview

Checking Fixtures & Gauges built to your application

Measurement that happens only in the quality lab tells you about parts you already made. A checking fixture at the line tells the operator now, so a drifting process is corrected before a shift's output is scrapped.

We design checking fixtures from the same datum scheme as the production fixture, so both agree on what 'correct' means, and correlate them to a master part or CMM data before handover.

Variants

Types of checking fixtures & gauges we build

Profile checking fixture

Verifies formed and welded profiles against the drawing.

Hole-position gauge

Confirms hole positions and diameters with go/no-go pins.

Weld-presence check

Confirms all required welds and components are present.

Functional gauge

Simulates mating conditions to confirm assembly fit.

FAQ

Checking Fixtures & Gauges: common questions

How do you certify a checking fixture?

By correlating it to a master part or to CMM measurement data so that a 'go' on the fixture reliably matches a passing dimension on the drawing.

How often should gauges be re-certified?

It depends on usage; a common practice is six- or twelve-monthly, or after any impact. We supply a recommended interval with the fixture.

Can a checking fixture replace CMM measurement?

It complements it. The fixture catches drift at the line in seconds; the CMM remains the reference for full dimensional reports.
